This house is located at 8250 feet above sea level. While the days may get warm, a 30-40 degree drop in temperatures at night is normal, which is why we don’t have air-conditioning at this altitude. If the day is warm, guests can open windows and allow a cross-breeze to cool the house. Fans are also provided. Locals refer to the area as “high desert” because of the low humidity, however, it can rain frequently (if briefly) during the summer. If you plan to be out most of the day, we kindly ask that you close windows before leaving to prevent water damage.
WiFi is available in the home with an unlimited data plan. As with most services in rural Colorado, speeds will depend upon others using the service at the same time. There could also be some cell service interruptions depending upon your provider. We recommend logging your phone into the WiFi for better service, turn the phone off and on to reset the tower connection and/or make sure your phone is on roaming.
The house does have outside security cameras for both the safety of our guests and to protect the property. There are no cameras inside to protect the privacy of our guests.
PLEASE NOTE: Our permit allows for a maximum of 6 guests, including infants and children. Kindly refrain from requesting additional guests to “drop by,” as this has caused numerous complications in the past.
